7:00 – Grief Share ~ Lesson 2 “The Seasons of Grief.”  This deals with understanding the process of healthy grieving.

 


  


*Jen Navis received a good report this week…praise God for a successful treatment.

*Terry Mentink is recovering from surgery.  Pray for complete healing of the infection he’s been fighting.

*Please keep Jeff & LuAn Huettner, Terry & Sherry Prinsen and their families in prayer as Jeff and Sherry’s father is critically ill at Mercy Medical Center in Oshkosh.  He was recently diagnosed with cancer of the bone marrow and is receiving chemo treatments.

*Robin Bruggink continues to struggle with neck pain which limits her activity.  Pray for the doctors to find something to give her relief.

*Pray for Elizabeth Weavers now that school has resumed and she needs extra strength and endurance for each day.

The Prayer Partner program will be starting again.  If you want to participate, please sign-up at the Welcome Centers.  This includes college/post high students who want a prayer partner and anyone who is willing to partner with one of our young adults.

 

Come for a tour of a beautiful garden on Monday, September 15.  Joan Mullikin has offered to share her gardens and “green thumb” ideas with anyone interested in coming.  The yard and garden can be toured from 5:30-6pm and then Joan will give a presentation on perennials, yard maintenance and getting your gardens ready for fall.  A free-will donation will be taken to support the Gibbsville garden.  Bring a friend or two!  The Mullikin’s address is: N2584 Mill Road in Hingham.

 

The GEMS will be meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 16, but this will not be their Mother/daughter night.  Any questions, call Judy at 564-2369.

 

LIVING FIRES MINISTRY: Please meet briefly after the AM service in the front of the sanctuary to set a meeting time.  Today is the last chance to join this session of LFM.

 

The Gibbsville quilting group will be working on their “Healing Quilts” this Saturday, Sept. 20 in the church basement.  If you would be interested in joining this ministry or have questions about it, feel free to stop in on Saturday from 9am-3pm or call Carol Scharl at 564-3226.

 

ChAOS Fundraiser ~ Saturday, September 27 from 8am-2pm the ChAOS group will hold a Bake Sale/Car Wash/Brat Fry at Mentink’s Piggly Wiggly.  The funds will go towards the Silver Birch Classis Retreat in October…come and support the ChAOS group.

 

August Receipts: Current-$29,810.32; Missions-$5,263.06; Kid’s Camp-$3,050.15; Building Fund-$3,388.50; Ione Heinen Memorial-$350.00.  As of August 31, the Current Fund was $15,725.63 in the red.  We ask for your continued support through your prayers and your giving.

SPECIAL EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

The public is invited to attend, free of charge, two exciting evening worship services with RUSSEL FRAGER OF HILLSONG and other professional songwriters and worship leaders.  Many local community members will also participate in these services.  The services will be held Thursday, September 18 and Friday, September 19 at Praise Fellowship Church, 2313 N 31st St, Sheboygan WI.  Thursday evening will consist of a high-energy contemporary style service accompanied by lighting and visual technology while Friday evening will be a contemporary praise and worship music concert experience. Sheboygan Christian School’s Dutch Apple Pie Sale has begun!  Orders must placed by Friday, October 3rd, 2008.  A standard 10” pie costs $10.00 and a 6” pie costs $5.00.  Orders can be placed by calling Lori at 208-6786 or online at applepies.sheboyganchristian.com.  Pies can be picked up Monday, Oct. 20 until 10:00 PM and Tuesday, Oct. 21 until 5:00 PM.

 

ATTENTION: Walkers, runners, crafters, brat lovers, givers!  The 3rd annual There Is Hope Walk/Run for Suicide Awareness and Prevention will be held September 20.  If you don’t walk or run, you can support the cause by donation (craft, financial or baked goods) or by attending the Brat Fry and Bucket Raffles.  All monies raised stay in Sheboygan County and are given to organizations that work with depression, suicide and Lolly (TeRonde) Wade’s Survivors Support Group.
