*Bob Voesch suffered a ruptured appendix and underwent surgery last Sunday.  He returned home on Thursday and continues his recovery.

*Alma Ramaker is now at Progressive Health Center in Sheboygan as she undergoes therapy following a broken pelvis.

*Congregational sympathy is extended to Kate Bluemenstein and to the Tom Mauer family on the passing of Russel Bluemenstein.

We Need You!!  The prayer partner program is in need of more people to pray for our young adults.  The forms are available on the welcome centers and will explain what the program is about.  This is a great ministry - be a part of it and encourage our college students and post-highers.

 

Bethany Circle Birthday Banquet, Monday, October 27 at 6:30pm.  Sign up sheets are in the information stations.  Members, sign up for yourself and number of guests.  Please sign up by Oct. 19th.  Watch for food donation slips in your mailbox.  If you cannot attend, please bring food donation.

 

The Trinidad Clothing drive will be held through mid-October.  Clothing can be brought to the coat area near the Genesis Room until October 12.  Thanks!

 

An informational sheet is available on the welcome centers regarding the Adult Colorado retreat next summer.  If you have further questions, please contact a member of the committee: Jerry & Jane De Blaey, Scott & Bonnie Ongna, Jim & Barb Cook, Ken & Lynne Te Beest, Rick & Jane Ten Dolle, Larry & Lynn Reimes.  This retreat is for ages from the “Strive” group through “Evergreens.”

 

The Evergreens bus trip to “Christmas in the Dells” on December 11 is now open to anyone. Sign up sheet is in the south narthex. The cost is only $55.00 per person with payment due by November 1st

The Shut-in Visitation Ministry is searching for additional folks of all ages to join our group.  Each member is assigned one shut-in to visit each month.  You make the visit at your convenience!  Want to join us?  Have any questions?  Call Jill Ten Pas: 254-6631.  To all our current members, “Thanks for serving!”

 

The ChAOS group will sponsor a Spaghetti Supper on Wednesday, October 15.  Donation cards for groceries are available in the back.  All you have to do is pick up a card (or two) and bring it to Mentink’s Piggly Wiggly to pay for the item and we will do the rest.  This helps greatly to offset expenses for us…thank you for contributing!

 

The Angel Tree is in the soft-seat area.  This Prison Fellowship project benefits children of incarcerated parents by giving these children a Christmas gift and a pamphlet with the Christmas story.  Information sheets and envelopes for your gift are also available.  See Martha Jensema if you have questions.  Note: this year is a Special Matching Grant Opportunity year.  Thanks to a generous friend of Angel Tree, your gift will be doubled to reach twice as many children with a Christmas present and the Gospel message!

SPECIAL EVENTS AND OPPORTUNITIES

Hingham Reformed Church will hold a concert on October 12 at 7pm with the Forever His trio.

 

Any high school juniors and seniors are invited to meet with representatives from Central College in Pella, IA on October 20 from 6-8pm at the Living Center in Sheboygan Falls Reformed Church.  Refreshments will be served.

 

The Back Row Tenors (BRTs), a nine voice men’s singing group, will present a benefit concert to raise medical support for Joel Tempas.  The Handbell Choir will also offer numbers during a prelude and intermission.  Please mark your calendars for Sunday, October 19th at 7:30 PM and join us at First Reformed Church, 927 Superior Avenue, in Oostburg.  More details will follow.
