Youth Pastor Opening

Youth Pastor/Director Search
Gibbsville Reformed Church

We are searching for a full-time Youth Pastor who can help (along with parents) to equip our youth to love God and others. We believe the church is both a home (where we equip Christians in their faith) and a mission (where we reach out into the community).  We believe the parent is the primary shepherd of their children so we are looking for a Youth Pastor who wants to come alongside our parents and work with teams.
Are you this type of Pastor?
  1. Are you a self-starter with a vibrant relationship with Jesus Christ who believes you are called by God to Youth Ministry?
  2. Do you have an outgoing creative personality with a bent for thinking about new ways to reach kids?  Are you someone who enjoys networking and getting out into the community?
  3. Do you have a commitment to the concept of team ministry and are you humble enough to call personal fouls?
Do you care deeply about these theological issues in a practical way?
  1. Do you understand grace and have a commitment to the Reformed faith?
  2. Do you believe that scriptures are infallible and inerrant?
  3. Do you believe in complementarianism?
Other Responsibilities:
  1. Work with the Youth Committee to recruit and train adult leaders and cast vision.
  2. Oversight responsibilities: GEMS (elementary girls), Gents (elementary boys), CHAOS (Middle School), RCYF (High School), Transformers (College), Vacation Bible School, and Kid’s Camp. Primary teaching responsibilities would be with CHAOS and RCYF.
  3. Lead at least one annual youth-led worship service.
  4. Organize fundraisers for retreats and an annual youth mission trip.
  5. Keep parents well informed.
  6. Occasionally lead worship services when called upon by the Senior Pastor.

Lines of Accountability:

The Youth Pastor will be under the direct supervision of the Senior Pastor and to the Administrative Consistory for annual performance evaluations.
